Fleming wins the Primary

Hi folks,

Thanks fellow Pocahontas Countians for supporting me in this primary election. It has been an amazing journey getting to this point, and I couldn't have done it without you. I had no idea what to expect going in, and I am greatly pleased to garner such a majority of your support.

I want to thank all those who contributed to this stage of my campaign, who made it possible for me to get the signs, pens, advertising and such that are all essential to running a successful primary campaign.

And in particular, I want to thank a few people who spent a lot of time with boots on the ground helping to get the word out: Betty Sharp, Tom Shipley, and Gil Willis. You all spent a lot of your time and energy on this and I greatly appreciate it.

Also, congratulations to Charles Wilfong on the Republican ticket. Moreover, I'd like to say I believe we had an excellent slate of county commission candidates across the board this primary election. It isn't an easy thing to attempt, so kudos to Jeremy Bauserman and Bill Grimes for giving it their all.

I'd like to end this note with a thanks to James Carpenter. Of course, he and I don't agree on a fair number of things, but give credit where credit is due, I say. Mr. Carpenter has done a lot of good things for Pocahontas County during his tenure, and I have to believe he'll do some more good before his term expires. So thanks James, and all the best going forward. :-)
