West Virginia County Officials Prep School

On Wednesday, December 10, the West Virginia Association of Counties (WVACo) held a prep school for newly elected county officials. The all-day training session was held at the Brideport Conference Center.

It was a good experience. We were instructed on the basics of WV ethics code as well as employment code. Also, many officials who have been serving for some time shared with us their experiences and bits of wisdom learned in their years of public service. And I got to meet several of my colleagues from throughout the state.

At the end of January, there will be a 3-day training session specifically for county commissioners. That will be hosted by the County Commissioners Association of West Virginia. I look forward to attending that as well.
